Barracuda mail archiver locked out11/26/2023 ![]() There isn't anything attached to the reset "- / ground" pin though. This little board appears to have one pin hooked up to the reset-switch header on the motherboard, but it's attached to the reset "+" line. It doesn't seem to register as any sort of USB device in the BIOS though (during POST, it says "zero devices found). ![]() Interestingly, there is a small PCB (about the size of a silver dollar) that is plugged into one of the USB ports. Thankfully, since I know the password, it's not the end of the world, but I'd rather just have it gone. Was able to get into the bios with password "bcndk1" (all lowercase).Ĭan do whatever I want in the BIOS, including blank the password.Īfter a few reboots though, the password magically comes back.Įven more strange - this behavior persists even after I updated the BIOS with the latest official ASUS BIOS.Īny thoughts on how the hell they "backdoored" this thing to always add a BIOS password? But it has 8x3TB disk and a hardware RAID card in it, so I can put together a decent sized datastore on there (I want to run a demo VM from Rubrik here, so I need mass storage as a backup target). It's out of warranty from Barracuda and we're not using it for its original purpose anymore anyway. I want to repurpose it as a test VM server temporarily. My $url = " my $result = $xmlrpc->call('config.Starting from the work in this old-ass thread.īoard on this thing is an Asus KCMA-D8, it has a pair of Opteron 4280s and 64GB of ECC DDR3. Some examples use variable names in the method calls, while other examples use explicit values, just to demonstrate both ways of making API calls. The examples in this guide demonstrate getting and setting some of the variables in the configuration database. Understanding Variables in the Configuration An exception to this is the Reload feature/button – there is an API to re-apply the system configuration. For example, from the BASIC > Administration page, you can click a button to take the system offline, to shut it down, or to clear the message log, but you cannot execute these "actions" via the APIs. For example, from the BASIC > Spam Checking page, you can set global Spam Scoring Limits for the actions Block, Tag, or Quarantine, and then click Save:Ĭonversely, most things that correspond to "action" type buttons in the web interface cannot be configured by the APIs. This includes most things that you can set by clicking the Save button in the Barracuda Email Security Gateway web interface. The APIs work through manipulation of variables inside of the system configuration database, and anything that can be declared in that database can be set or checked with the APIs. Some languages such as Perl, for example, provide wrappers for XML-RPC requests, providing an interface to form the request. The framework of the API provides for the programmer to get or set variables inside an XML-RPC request that correspond to field values in the configuration database in the Barracuda Email Security Gateway. For more information, see APIs for the Barracuda Email Security Gateway. The APIs for the Barracuda Email Security Gateway section covers APIs that are specific only to the Barracuda Email Security Gateway. The General APIs section covers "generic" APIs that may be used with all Barracuda Networks appliances that support an API.Note that all API calls must use HTTP/1.1 or later. ![]() Most of the examples shown use Perl script. Two sets of APIs are presented in this guide. Barracuda Networks provides APIs for remote administration and configuration of the Barracuda Email Security Gateway version 7.x and above.
